IN MEMORY

Pamella Sue Hansen (Skolmoski)

Pamella Sue Hansen (Skolmoski)

                        Pamella Sue Hansen Skolmoski

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on March 23, 2022.  Mom was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Colline and Edna Hansen on September 27, 1949.  She spent most of her growing up years in Sugarhouse.  She attended Highland High School where she met her sweetheart, Philip Skolmoski.  They were married June 12, 1970, in the Salt Lake Temple.  They have six children who were her greatest joy.

Mom loved spending time outdoors with her family. She spent several years helping out at various Cub Scout Day camps as well as young women camps. Mom earned three Eagle Scouts and three Young Women Medallions and loved encouraging her children to set goals and accomplish them. She loved camping with her family and freely used her talents to plan family vacations all over the mountain west. Friday night steak nights were her specialty while camping, and you could often find her playing cards or working on a word puzzle book while everyone else was off fishing. She spent countless hours attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren, as well as making sure to attend as many recitals, concerts, meets and shows as she could. She was so proud of her kids and grandkids and loved to let them know how much she loved them.

Mom quietly shared her gifts and talents with everyone through hot meals, baby blankets, or kind words of encouragement. You would often find her in the kitchen, cooking or cleaning up after a big meal for her family, downstairs painting her Christmas ornaments for all of her children and grandchildren that she gave every single Christmas, or sewing baby blankets for every grandchild, friend, co-worker, or neighbor who had a baby.  Mom was never one for the spotlight but was always serving behind the scenes.  Mom loved her service in the Jordan River Temple and Draper Temple as an ordinance worker for 5 years and her missionary service alongside her sweetheart at the FamilySearch Sandy Operation Center for the past 7 years. Mom was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and quietly, faithfully and joyfully served her family and the Lord every day of her life.  She will live on in the happy memories and loving gifts given to many, especially her family.  We are thankful for the knowledge that we will see mom again and will be together forever.

Mom is survived by her husband Philip, Children: Rebecca Monge (Robert), Paul Skolmoski (Tina), Mark Skolmoski (Becky), Benjamin Skolmoski (Lori), Sarah Erickson (Scott), and Rachel Bissel (Ryan).  Grandchildren: Hailey North (Mikel), Kamille Skolmoski, Emma Skolmoski, Emilee Skolmoski, Dylan Koontz, Joshua Skolmoski, Madison Skolmoski, Abigail Skolmoski, Megan Skolmoski, Ashton Skolmoski, Luke Erickson, Rylee Koontz, Craig Erickson, Matthew Skolmoski and Crosby Bissel and Great Grandson Flynn North.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Hillcrest Stake Center, 8485 South 1000 East, Sandy, Utah 84094.  A viewing will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and one hour prior to funeral services at the Stake Center.

Phil, I didn't know! I would have been there if I had known. I'm so sorry! Sorry she's gone. Sorry I couldn't be at the funeral, sorry for the sadness you must still be feeling, sorry for the emptiness for your whole family with Pam's passing. I so wish I had known before this posting. God bless you during this year and going forward. You will be in my prayers going forward. Wish I could do more. - Julie Nichols Goodro

Phil: I am so sorry to learn of Pams passing.
She is an elect lady for sure. Her kindness, grace and understanding were above all standards in high school. She will be missed by all who were touched by her incomparable spirit.
May God be with you.
